Rising Son Confidentiality Commitment
Effective date: July 1, 2026
Last updated: July 1, 2026
1. Our commitment
Rising Son is a place where men can be honest about hard things. That only works if people feel safe. This page explains how we approach confidentiality, what you can expect from us, what we ask of you, and the limits that apply. It is part of our Terms of Service and works alongside our Privacy Policy.
2. An important note first
Rising Son provides coaching, education, and peer support. We do not provide therapy or mental health treatment. Because of this, the confidentiality described here is a professional commitment we make to you, not the legally privileged confidentiality that applies between a licensed therapist and a client. What you share with us is also not protected health information under HIPAA.
3. Confidentiality within the coaching relationship
What you share with your coach is treated as confidential. Your coach will not share your personal information or the content of your conversations outside of Rising Son, except as needed to provide and support our Services or as described in the limits below. A small number of Rising Son staff who support the coaching relationship and our operations may have access to relevant information, and they are expected to handle it with the same care.
4. Confidentiality within the community and groups
Our community and groups depend on mutual trust. By taking part, you agree to keep what other members share private, and not to repeat it, record it, or share it outside the group. We ask every member to honor this.
At the same time, please understand an important reality. Rising Son cannot control, and does not guarantee, what other members do with what you share. Once you share something with a group, it is outside of our sole control. You should use your own judgment about what you choose to share, and share only what you are comfortable sharing in a group setting.
5. Limits and exceptions
There are situations where we may not be able to keep information confidential, and where we may be legally or ethically required to act. These include:
- When there is a risk of serious harm to you or to another person.
- When there is suspected abuse or neglect of a child, an elder, or a vulnerable adult.
- When we are required to disclose information by law, court order, subpoena, or other legal process.
- When disclosure is necessary to protect the safety of our members, our staff, or the public.
In these situations, we may share only what is reasonably necessary, and, where appropriate and safe, we will try to involve you.
6. Recordings and AI tools
Our community calls and webinars may be recorded, and recordings may be shared with members of that community. Coaching group and individual sessions are not recorded. Calls may be transcribed and summarized using AI-powered tools to support the coaching relationship and our Services. We handle this information consistent with our Privacy Policy.
7. Your privacy and your data
How we collect, use, store, and share your personal information is described in our Privacy Policy. Please read it together with this page.
8. No guarantee of absolute confidentiality
We take confidentiality seriously and ask the same of our members. Even so, because our work involves other people, group settings, and technology provided by third parties, we cannot promise that information will never be disclosed. By taking part in Rising Son, you understand and accept this.
