Either Brannon or Tyler mentioned at one point that the retreat is somewhat of a passion project of theirs to help others with their recovery--that it's not really much of a money-maker for their businesses, and they could actually make more money doing other things--so I respect their (and Chase's) commitment to helping with others' recovery and the sacrifice it represents.

I attended the 2023 retreat at Bear Lake with these guys. It was definitely a life changing event in my life journey. A couple of the stories told on this episode were a part of my weekend, the stories bought back memories of the experience and the events that altered some of my beliefs about myself and my relationship with my higher power. The story of the guy in the tree and the one we left behind were on that weekend along with the 400lb calf story, Brought a smile to my face and I re-experienced the love and connection to the other men that weekend hearing these stories. If you are thinking about going and are hesitant about it due to some fear or or other blockage in your ability to fit in, I want to encourage you to take a leap of faith and go on this journey. It was well organized (I suppose they do head counts now on the way out of the wilderness...lol) and the food was remarkable. It will change you as a man. you will start to embody the principles that these 2 men disseminate on every podcast, that you are loved, that you are enough and you are worthy of love.

Guys, I truly don't know what to say. It was such an amazing event. I had previously done a two week intensive at the Begin Again Institute in Boulder which was life changing in it's own way, but if a man had two weeks of this at his fingertips I have no doubt that they'd have a damn near unshakable foundation in their recovery moving forward and could topple mountains. The camaraderie. The vulnerability and providing a place of safety that gave a perfect balance of pushing us out of our comfort zones, yet giving a safe space to land.
